Okay so no snow apart from the quilt...
but my god is it cold today.
I had visions of beautiful sunlit quilt flapping as per norm.
This will have to do...it's too cold..did I mention that?
Back inside for now.
After much head scratching I came to the conclusion that my thoughts on yellow and grey had changed. The tones of grey are actually more on the green side, so I've gone for a turquoise palette
to keep it clean and crisp.
It reminds me of driftwood and the sea
(well in my head it does!)
I'm thinking of a turquoise back and binding
with turquoise and maybe a little red or rust hand quilting.
I'm off to make some butternut squash soup
before venturing out with a friend and our cameras.
Have a great weekend.
Wrap up warm...it's taters.
Love the turquoise.
This is fabulous Clare! I adore it - you have such great vision!
Definite brass monkey weather....brrr!
Clare this is gorgeous! I do love it. How big is it....it looks quite large! The bits of turquoise is perfect. And the red/rust handquilting will make a statement. I can't wait to see it! We are still having a balmy winter...my bulbs are about 4 inches out of the ground. Hve fun taking pictures :)
Very, very cold! I have lost the feeling in my feet. Just finish that lovely quilt and snuggle up underneath!
I think this is my fav quilt you've made. The dark polka dots are lovely.
You are soooo talented.
Butternut squash soup is my absolute favourite.......

the quilt looks fantastic Clare and the turquoise is just right
Good shout with the turquoise - it will look fab. If you hurry you might be able to finish it and snuggle up under it before the snow comes!! XX
It's beautiful Clare! It has a romantic feel.
Ps ... I saw a rose star on a tissue box at the grocery store yesterday! I think the tissue company saw your blog! I will email you the picture I took of it. :)

Kudos to you for attempting to go out and photograph in the cold! This quilt is looking so great :-)
Wow! What a lovely quilt this is! I love the grey spotted border! They balance out the white so well, with the little touches of turquoise! The red stitching will really make it pop! Stay warm - sending warm downunder wishes your way!
