but I had to share what has literally just dropped through my door!!!!!!
Miracles do happen!
I won this lot on ebay (I never win on ebay) for £8.50!!!!
There are 6 pieces in all.
Each hexagon lovingly hand stitched.
Look at the pony!
This package was sort of an unknown really, as the sellers picture wasnt that great.
So you can imagine the gasps and the pounding of my heart on opening.
I do believe I was heard to say omg omg under my breath, any number of times!
This is just the type of patchwork I want to create myself, If only I could find such great fabrics!
I thought I would make cushions to
keep for myself sell.
I've seen some (not as nice) in the CK vintage bit for £35!!!!
Just look at the colours!
Now I must go and make tea and swoon.....
What a lucky ebay win! Thats a lot of someones hard work for £8.50!
Hmm, yours is nicer than mine... When I see what you do with yours, maybe I will be inspired to do something with mine, but there's just too much artificial fibre in mine to make me really love it...
What a wonderful find, such amazing fabrics! Someone has woeked hard puting that patchwork together, lucky you!
Swooning here as well...
Oooh I am swooning here! Its gorgeous and such a bargain :) fab find well done you - looking forward to seeing the cushion covers when they are done! x
They are beautiful, I can't wait to see what you come up with.
Lovely craftmanship and beautiful vibrant colours too! No wonder you was so pleased! x
Wow - they're gorgeous. There's a special place in my heart for hexagon patchwork - I loved to do it in the 70s...
I thought I had seen enough gorgeousness for one day ...until I saw your blog!! Lucky you! Well done!
There are some rather bad pics of my patchwor here:
I like the cotton bits, but some of the fabrics are nasty and artificial. I might do something by making all the made up sets regular and surrounding them with a pale, plain border of hexagons, but that sounds like lots of work...
Lovely, lovely hexagons! Beautiful work, can't wait to see what you make out of them.
lucky you x
They're lovely - what a bargain!
You did really well there Claire - can't wait to see what you make. xxx (bet you end up keeping them yourself!!)
OMG how amazing! you're so lucky & that price, i'm not suprised it made your day!
Are you crocheting? Silly question!
Hope you were able to make your wool selection easily this afternoon.
It was lovely to see you today and yes you'll have to meet these pusscats one day.
Thank you again for my snowflake, I absolutely love it.
That was a lucky win it must have taken someone ages to sew them. Well done with the crochet it's looking great.
Wow I just found your blog through your lovely red heart on flickr. The patchwork is amazing and to get it ebay - how lucky! I am dying to try patchwork - just need to find some time.! ** Kim **
