calling all rose starlets

With my rose star block party on the way,
I thought I'd give you some pointers
to get you in the mood.
Firstly, my discovery of this quilt
led to my little creation.
It's a beautiful quilt,
thanks for the inspiration Eileen.
The mission: should you choose to accept
is to learn the way of the epp
(english paper piecing)
or
to further the fun if you already pp.
 You will need:
inspiration!!
4 fabrics that clash or blend
at least one plain fabric (but not essential)
computer type paper/old envelopes work too.
needle and thread
nimble fingers
(cod liver oil may be needed, depending on ones age!)
I am calling this a block party and not a quilt along,
as I find the latter can sound like a terrifying all encompassing chore!
Plus I am not making a quilt, so why should you!
This is a fun join in anytime sort of thing.
Click the button to sign up!
Can't wait to see what you come up with.
Shall we kick it off next Monday?
(with a tutorial of course)

Oh, resistance was useless! I couldn't let you have all the fun! I have just added another beautiful project to my 2012 'to-do' list!

Clare, I'd love to join as I am constantly amazed by your awesomeness. However, I've only ever epp'd 6 hexies in my entire life. Will this be a problem? It's a bit of a case of all the gear and no idea with me I'm afraid... my hand stitching is kind of atrocious.

Gosh...it was just too tempting, I just signed up! I hope I can keep up with the rest of the group.
This is a really exciting project, and I have been wanting to do something like this for ages, thanks for organising it all. Can't wait ;)

I've been eagerly awaiting this post. Having seen the block/quilt on the table it seems doable- so I'm in!

I'm planning on joining in too! What a great idea. I just posted about it on my blog, and snagged one of your pictures too (credited and linked to you, of course). Hope that is okay! :)

I still haven't completed the patchwork cushion cover that I started last year!!! I will be watching with interest from the side lines though and encouraging you all the way! x

Hi Clare
I just discovered your blog via Angela's post mentioned above. This quit is a beauty! I'd love to join but aside from having never done this paper piecing business, I have a bit of a month ahead of me so best I just drool from afar.
Will keep an eye open for the tutorial for when the dust settles on my end. I'd love to give it a whirl sometime in the future.
Thanks! Berene

You forgot to add "patience" . I will get around to doing a patchwork again one day (did plenty in my youth!!!). Yours looks so lovely.xxxx
PS I don't know how the Team is doing - there seems to be a lot of gnashing of teeth and swearing, but I hope to get "Darn sarth" again this year. xxxx

I'm so excited! I never click 'join' but I can't wait to get started on this and be a rose starlet too. I love that it's not a huge quilt but I can expand it if I want to later. Eeek so looking forward to the next step.

I've just popped over from Mary's blog and would love to join in but I am a COMPLETE beginner, will I be able to follow along? I would love to because it looks so pretty :)

Love this, I joined your group, can't wait! I see the hexie template info, but guess we have to wait for the other shapes in the tutorial. I love trying different blocks like this, very creative, great job, & thanks!
