My favourite haunt and much needed anti-depressant.
Here are my favourite corners.
Here are my favourite corners.
A lovely old tree at the cemetery gate overlooking porthmeor beach.
A distressed garage door, which will be replaced one day, so I took a picture for posterity sake.
In all the years we have been visiting we never found this beach. Its Porthminster absolutely perfect sand beach with views of the harbour, see below.
The unknown allotment plot, which we pass everyday along the coast.
And not forgetting the shops. The one above sells mainly handmade items, that were unfortunately for me a little expensive, that's the st ives affect.
There is a new CK shop which I did venture into, but yet again failed to fall in love with anything.
The only item I wanted was some blue boat fabric, which they don't keep, however the lady gave me a swatch, actually she gave me two, I was just about clever enough not to open my big mouth and give her one back!!

I see someone guessed it last time! It does look fantastic. Coincidentally, there are lovely photos of St Ives on a second blog today - on 'Posy'. There's a real St Ives vibe going on, obviously. Being Devon-bred, I never really visited Cornwall. We just think we have all the best stuff, why go further west? I have been missing out, clearly... Thanks for those great photos.
PS, I'm haing a Garden Party on my blog next month! Is that close enough to a summer fete to interest you? Invitation on my blog...
It looks a lovely place and I still want to go there .
Ah Clare, im ashamed to admit that as an adult ive never been to cornwall! How bad is that?! It looks so beautiful, thanks for the guided tour, perhaps we could make up blogger leaflets full of hints and tips to all the best coves and treasure filled vintage shops in our fave locations?!

It looks like a beautiful place to unwind. I hope it did you the world of good.x
Thought it was. Oh I so want to live there. When I'm a little old lady all gnarled and wallnutlike I shall do. I shall swim in the sea every day and have a little cottage rammmed to the gunnels with beach-combings. Salubrious Place just sounds so fab doesn't it?
My favourite beach is Porthgwidden and the food in the cafe is scrummy.
As for the quilt - totally brilliant idea. Can't wait to see how many swatches you can get.
Thanks for the trip

If CK are no help what about Laura Ashley? I think they will give you samples.
To be honest I don't actually visit fabric shops very often. I'm such a cheapskate I buy off ebay or dismantle clothes from car boot and jumble sales. :O)
Beautiful! I love St Ives, we holiday there often and I fall in love with it a bit more each time I go.
That CK is teeeeny isn't it?
I love that fabric, I got some a few weeks ago, it is one of the few things I'm feeling from CK at the moment.
Ooh, thanks for your piccies.
I *love* St Ives.
I particuarly love the view down the walkway into town, so it was lovely to see it again.
We shall be hitting Cornwall the end of June, so I shall be taking some products to do some photo-shoots. Do you know of any beach huts in Cornwall?
xx
Gorgeous photos of a lovely place!

Looks like paradise to me .... wish I lived in that part of the country .... I can't swim and don't like vast amounts of water but find myself strangely drawn to the coast.
Lovely St Ives pictures, hope you had fun.

Ive just got back myself!!! Were we there together??? WHich pitch were you on??? Ive got my post to do yet, but we did get some lovely weather and great piccies. I feel the same about Cath Kidston and the only thing I really liked was the same blue boat fabric. xxx
St Ives is on my list to visit when we next venture down to the West Country. Lovely photos Clare. x
HI there you funny little thing. SO happy you pooped by and left a trail to your place. Browsing through a bit here looking at all your goodies, reading all your funny words. Entertaining it is. Do you live in Cornwall nearby St Ives? One of my best friends ( Swedish girl lives in St Just since 14 years now, she runs Boscean Hotel there. Love St Just and everything around. I went there for time out from busy city life 10 years ago, saw the light and life changed in a swisch. It is something about the waves hitting the rocks... The smell. The wind. Nice place here. I like it! :D
