Greetings on this apparently
'most depressing Monday of the year'
Thought I would cheer you all up with the latest creation.
It seems however this bear's got attitude!
At art college I learnt that Michelangelo;
'believed that every stone had a sculpture within it,
and that the work of sculpting was simply a matter
of chipping away all that was not a part of the statue.'
Can't wait to see who is hiding in this ball!!
He is a crochet bear,
more or less the same pattern as Bertie.
He nearly didn't make it,
the yarn is a B* to work with.
Eventually I realised that the forgiving texture of this yarn,
meant that the mistakes don't show!
although his nickname has become
big leg bear
He remains a bare bear for now,
although he may turn up with an adornment,
depending on his attitude!
He has brightened my morning..
and yours too?
He has already found a home...
...with me!!

awwwwww.....he is just darling :)
lovely work Clare!
I am glad that your ball of wool had a little bear hidden inside. I wonder if I have any works of art hidden in my paper stash! He is a lovely bear and not grizzly at all!!x
He is gorgeous Clare!! Love him. :)
Do you know last night I was thinking about knitting a bear what with this refound love of mohair I have at the minute. We'll see!
Looking forward to seeing what is inside the white yarn!

He's adorable! Yes, I gather it's supposed to be the 'worst' day of the year -though here it's really bright and warm - I've been in the garden all morning and sat down and sunbathed at one point!!
aaaah - he's not grizzly - he's nuzzly! :)
He's a cutie! Certainly cheered me up - and I didn't even know I needed cheering!
He's so cute and looks so soft - a real snuggly bear. Maybe a polar bear with the white?
Hes gorgeous I would love one. He reminds me of a bear called Bizzy that I had when I was little X
Oh he is rather a cutie even if a bit grizzly! ;-) No wonder you have kept him for yourself.
He looks so cute as a little pocket rocket bear!
He is suuuuuuuuuuuuuuper cute! I'm yet to try a bear or anything cute and cuddly, but this is very inspiring!
Have a lovely week!

He is the sweetest little bear ever! I love him. xxx
Who wouldn't want him to live in their pocket! So cute.

He is looking slightly miffed, but altogether adorable.
Cheers

He's lovely - that's such a great notion, that within the raw materials there is something hidden, waiting to emerge. I shall think of that next time I look at a lump of grey clay!
Absolutely adorable!
Please know you can showcase him or any other project you do on my new Crafty Links page.
I LOVE this bear. So worth using that difficult-to-use yarn. I am maybe regretting giving the amigurumi book away now! (although I have about 4 other ami books so no need for panic!!)
Oh he is adorable Clare! xx
He is one of the sweetest little bears I have ever seen.
Greetings from Melbourne, Australia

he is a seriously adorable bear! I've looked at yarn like that but don't have to nerve to work with it!
