Good morning all!
Well here she is..
in all her splendid granny glory!
I did actually finish last weekend, but as we all know
grey days mean gloomy snaps!
I was (and still am) unsure of my colour combination,
I guess that's the whole point of your first project,
to learn from your mistakes (and there are a few!)
I like this combination however..
Having not blocked(pinned and dampened, to evenly shape the blanket) the squares individually,
I had to improvise with a sofa cushion and a towel.
Worked a treat, and what a difference!
More gratuitous crochet snaps warning!
Whilst I'm harping on about my newly found obsession,
I feel as a crochet disciple I must pass on the wisdom of the hook!!
And I already have two followers!!
A few weeks back I met up with a fellow blogger Lisa some of you may know her from
It was a first for both of us.
I think we hit it off straight away, which is strangely random,
to be chatting away to someone you dont know, but you do actually know so much about them!?!
To cut a long story short we had a lovely couple of hours trying to synchronize our crochet skills whilst drinking lots of tea.
I think the tea drinking was a little more sucsessful, so another meet up is on the cards for sure!
Hopefully I havent bored you I have inspired you to take up the hook,
if not, then follow my journey into the crochet world....
.....I need more wool (she cries in despair!)

Your granny blanket looks gorgeous. I like the colours. I am yet to finish mine.
Warm wishes

Well (for what it's worth), I think that the colours are great. Well done on finishing it. I am (still) trying to learn.xx
It's great, and I have to say I really like those colours - they have the modern feel with the white, but are a bit alternative too, as most of the modern crochet is brighter. You haven't 'hooked me', though!
i have blanket envy.. its gorgeous love it!! colours are fantastic..
well done!!
Lovely blanket - good for you. I haven't mastered crochet at all yet!
Well done, Clare, it's lovely. What shall your next project be, I wonder?

Feel good vibes sent to you. I had that sore throat last week. I felt so yuck I actually went to bed and slept for 2 hours Thursday afternoon. My precious me day was spent asleep after essential jobs were done as I was just so wiped out!
Rentokil? Oh my that doesn't sound pleasant.
Keep warm and snuggled.

Hello Clare
I've just come across your beautiful blog via flickr.
I am in total love with your amazing granny blanket, and your patchwork.
I would love to feature a photo of your framed vintage patchwork with links through to your blog on my blog if that is ok. Let me know!
I love sewing and crochet too, and am currently looking for inspiration to redecorate my home.

Oooh it's so pretty!! I love it! I'm just about to start to attempt my first granny square blanket, having picked up a crochet hook at the beginning of the year and I get very keen to get started when I see pictures like these!

Hi Clare, Just found you and I am so pleased! I love the colours you have chosen for your Granny - I could find a home for it on my sofa if you tire of it!
